Hi,

I messed up some links in the gallery section of mywebsite. I have been using the link checker to change them back but have come across a problem.

I thought if you had lots of .htm files if you changed the url in one it would auto update the other .htm files

is there a seperate program that will automate this as i don't fancy going through lots of .htm files changing them or having to re-build my gallery.

this is what i need to change: /destinationhome/gallery TO just /gallery knocking off the destinationhome bit.

hope i have made my self clear

Hi,

Yea i have used find and replace function on some of the .htm files.

the problem i have is that i have over 100 hundred .htm files which need changing which have the wrong links in. have tried taking them out of dreamweaver and placing them back in, but this doesn't seem to do anything.

the only other way is to go through each .htm relinking the images which will take some time :-(

hope that more clear, i agree it is confusing.

I'm sure there was a 'find and replace in files' option in Dreamweaver the last time I used it, allowing you to run the replacement on multiple files e.g. *.htm. Is there not an option in one of the drop-down boxes when you select the 'find and replace' option?

Other than that, you should be able to use WinGrep, the Windows equivalent to *nix's grep function.

this man speaks the truth. i swear i looked through the help files for help but couldn't see it any where.

Thanks for the help
