Fixing up floorboards, advice?

Hey all,

I was lifting up the laminate in my flat, planning on sanding and finishing it, and came across this horrible bit in the hall under some chipboard :

Is this salvageable?
Or am I going to have to forget sanding it?

For a floor that size I would not bother, it's a lot of work to get the floor looking good and given the break in the floor for access (by the looks of it) it's always going to look odd.

Any salvage or wood recyling places near you? May be able to get replacement boards for that section, tidy up the cuts and but the joins together.

Massive effort to get it looking nice as you’ll need to replace the lot with reclaimed. It’s a hall get a carpet or some decent laminate.

IMO get them sturdy and buy some real wood engineered flooring, looks as good as solid wood and is far more stable and far less drafty

After looking about, that's what I think I'm going with
Saves the hassle of sanding I suppose :/

Get all the creaks out while it's up, get wire runs and heating done.
