Been having various problems installing windows (keeps giving me BSODs during the install)

Was wondering if the MBR could be the problem, however this HDD has 2 partitions, one 20gb for the Os and the other 280 with all my data on.

Do i risk my data if i use the fixmbr command in the recovery console? It does warn me that i hav a non standard mbr and problems could be caused.

BSODs during install are quite often (not always though) associated with memory problems. i'd burn a memtest cd and check that out first. :)

Well the RAM is new and i have tried both the sticks i hav one at a time.... dont actually have any other usable RAM tht would work in this pc.
How would i get a memtest cd?
I would also hav 2 make the memtest CD on my mac, since its the only comp that works atm, to use the cd on my pc..... that sounds fun. Anyone know how 2 do that lol, dont really use the mac much

I've used fixmbr and I think there's a fixboot as well (can't remember) several times, and although I would always get warnings, I've never ever had a problem with the results.
