I purchased Phantasy Star Universe for the PC and wanted to play it online but dam them they don't support Paypal so now I have PSU and can never play Online. No one in my family trust putting credit card info online no matter how repitable the company is.

I'm completely annoyed with this incompetents by Sega. Are they trying to make it hard to people pay to play or something?

Maybe you should have looked in to it first before buying it.

Paypal isn't a 'standard' like Visa, Mastercard etc...sites and companies that offer that form of payment are relatively few and far between.

Is your family from the dark ages?

Try explaining that all credit card companies protect against online fraud if the worst comes about.

Even my mam uses online shopping now and a few years ago she swore she never would.

/edit!!!!! :- Your 27? Use your own card?

Simple solution: Open an acount for online shopping ONLY like I did. Just put enough money to pay what you want and thats it.

It's your fault for not checking before you ordered.

As Tried&Tested mentioned, Paypal is not as widely used as you obviously think.

i used to use the whole "https" line when my family thought putting your card on the internet was safe.

i'm like, "yeah, the s means safe, so that means everything is fine"

i think it means secure though, oh well

I don't expect them to pay for it. I give them the money. I've never believe in having a credit card.

Hardly any gaming subscriptions support PayPal... either get a credit card or don't buy subscription-based online games. And why not get a credit card? As long as you set up a direct debit so that the outstanding monthly amount is paid in full by your main bank account each month there's no risk whatsoever... it's not as though you'll be forced to go on a mad spending spree and max it and then spiral hopelessly into debt.

Even my gran uses online payment now... i'd say there's much less chance of getting your details stolen from a secure server than from many places you swipe your card at (petrol stations, newsagents etc). It's the 21st century!

Having a credit card will actually give you a better credit rating.

Do you simply not trust yourself to have one? I assume you still live at home?

Just get a credit card. You're complaining that no one in your family trusts putting their card details on the net, yet you don't trust having a credit card. You can set up a direct debit to pay off the entire card bill automatically. No way you can go into debt. Plus it must only be something like £15 a month.

I got a credit card to buy things on Steam and I've had no problems with that (well not the card anyway, had a massive problem with Steam).

Try this site, http://www.entropay.com you can create an account and get a virtual credit card for online shopping. You just need to add funds to the card before spending on it and I beleive they take paypal for the top ups ;)

I opened an account with them and added my lad to it who's 17 so that he can buy stuff on Xbox live and Steam etc.

Takes a few days to go through the setup process as you need to provide ID and go through some security checks etc.

I'm sorry but you're getting a serious LMFAO at this one.

Your incompetance is far more astounding than anything you 'think' Sega should be doing.

Quoted for truth!

I may just get a card that only lets me spend what's in my account then.
I'm not sure such a thing exists. The whole point of a credit card is that you're spending money that you pay back later.. it's like a short-term loan.

I hate to be the one to say it but you need to learn to moderate your own spending. When you decide to buy a house you are going to be up poo creek without a credit card.

If it really bothers you most credit card companies have online facilities and you can set it up to pay off the balance of your account every month.
