flac 1.3.1 has been released

if you have a fancy CPU with the latest instruction sets, you'll find the encoding speed is about 2.5 times as fast as the previous version. :eek:

Neat, I just dropped it into the MusicBee codecs folder and it seems to be working fine.

Maybe we'll finally see an update to EAC to incorporate it. I won't hold my breath though.

EAC doesn't need an update for it does it? Just use the switches as external encoder..

(I only use v0 mp3, so just guessing here)

Yeah, but it would be good to have it come with it by default so you don't have to update it yourself. I mean it's been 3 years since the last update and the interface still majorly sucks and all Wetehoff's attention seems to be on Easy Audio Copy... which he could have implemented with Exact Audio Copy. But I suppose he gets paid for Easy as opposed to Exact.

I'd like to see XLD ported to Windows and Linux. Best audio extractor I've ever used. And it's open source. And it's updated regularly. And it would mean not having to run EAC in VB or under Wine.
