If its older music, i.e. pre-death by compression (circa late 1990s), buy the CD and rip it.

If its new music, it's so heavily compressed you'll have a hard time discerning FLAC from 320kpbs tbh.

I've started buying music from https://bandcamp.com/. They also have a lot of free stuff. I wouldn't say it's expensive either.

Bandcamp is great, artists seem to like it too so they must be doing something right.

Both of these sites are what I use too, very pricey, but certainly worth it for some of the higher res stuff!
