Hi
I have read the basic sticky and lots of posts but i just want some1 to take my hand and tell me how to do it :)
I just built a new PC for my m8 and have never overclocked a PC before but as i got him a Q6600 Go i feel it would be rude not to overclock it a bit.
If there is anyone out there with the same spec as me could they could drop a post on there with the steps they took to overclock it a bit. I dont need/want it to be super clocked but maybe 3ghz or so would be cool if its easy.

Please be basic... ie go to bios and in Advansted setting go to... and put the voltage up to 1.5v... now go to.... etc etc

My spec is:
ASUS P5K Premium WiFi-AP iP35 Socket 775 Black Pearl Edition
Intel Q6600 GO
4GB of OCZ(2x2GB) DDR2 1066MHz/PC2-8500 Reaper HPC Edition Dual Channel
Arctic Cooling AC-FRZ-7P Freezer 7 Pro
Saphire HD 4870 Video card
Samsung HD753LJ 750GB Hard Drive
Coolermaster Black Elite 330 Case

You may flame me for being lasy but I realy dont have the time to learn how to OC at the mo as im moving to New Zealand in 1.5 weeks and havent even thought about packing yet...
Any help would be awesome!!

If you can get your hands on a copy of Custom PC Dec 2007, there is an article titled 'Overclock Your PC'.
This gives, imo, a good basic guide how to overclock a Q6600 running on an Asus P5K motherboard.
Was tempted myself to buy the combo as seeing it all spelt out gives one ( or me at least !) a little more confidence .But in end decided that an E8400 was a better cpu for me.
I did buy the motherboard and found overclocking the cpu from 3 to 3.6 very simple.

I am not by any means an expert - but there are quite a no. who subscribe to these forums who are, are happy to assist and , with the occasional exeption , will answer even what you might consider the dumbest ?'s .(should know I've asked enough of 'em myself :D)
