Going to see them tomorrow night in Manchester :D

Can't wait, I bet they're an amazing band to see live, judging from the songs and seeings some videos of their gigs.

Anyone else seeing them?

New album has some very good tracks on, but I'm looking forward to hearing

Oh Yoshimi, they don't believe me, but you won't let those robots eat me

WOW.

The only real applicable word to a gig, which has easily blown any others I have seen. Those I have seen include the likes of Eric Clapton, Yes and the Arcade Fire so it's quite well achieved! :D

Even though I'm not well versed in the Go! Team, I thought they were fantastic, and the sound was perfect - unusual in support bands I've found.

As for the Lips, well everything they did was flawless. I was in awe when the huge balloons were launched into the air and pushed around. I managed to get to the front, which was an awesome experience. Seeing the band up close was fantastic, Wayne rocks.

The setlist was not especially long, but was well chosen with a good selection of songs past (She Don't Use Jelly) and present (Vein of Stars, Yeah Yeah Yeah song). What stood out to me was the level of crowd interaction, which is why I think this gig seemed so perfect :) Being there really felt like you were part of something - whether it was all of the balloons flying around and the excellent showmanship, singing along with the songs or the general good nature of everyone there.

Wayne also shared some fantastic, well spoken words. Such as that we should be feel to be controlled by some force above, we should enjoy life as it is. I think with this gig, I have certainly seen life at its most enjoyable.

If you ever have a chance to see the Lips, do not miss it. No doubt I'll be singing their praises for months to come. :D

An awe-inspiring performance. Go Wayne!!

Plus, to agree with Arcade Fire, I think that the Lips are improving from The Soft Bulletin to At War with the Mystics. The more recent songs seem more sophisticated; in terms of lyrics such as Vein of Stars, and also with some fantastic, thought provoking yet catchy songs like Do You Realize from Yoshimi. I can't wait to see where they go next.

Three cheers for the Lips! :D

PS. I can't see myself getting to sleep. Hours after the gig finished I'm still full of energy with the songs in my head!

Yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah..
