Flash drive won't show up when plugged in

I have a 16GB Sandisk Cruzer flash drive which until recently was working fine. Now when I plug it in it flashes up in my computer and disk management but disappears almost immediately.

Can anyone help me get this working again?

do you have any other drives with the same letter? might just need the letter changing.

I'm not sure, can't remember the letter of the drive. How would I go about changing the letter given that I can't see it in disk management or my computer?

I have several of these and I find with the smaller ones they don't connect particularly well with the USB slot connectors - try supporting it?

I have had drives which wouldn't show up in My computer or disc management. It was a few years ago. Well before Win 7. Acronis partition magic (or something called similar) found them. I was able to allocate a drive letter and format . From then on windows saw it ok.

Thanks I'll give that a try. I should mention that it won't mount on my linux machine either.

Does sound a bit like a like a dud then.
