I'm not sure whether has anyone has seen this and i'm not sure it its possible but has anyone seen a process whereby you can pass a text value to a .swf file which then in turn outputs the text on a page as html in a particular format.

Does anyone know how this is done?

Cheers,
Rob

What's the end result you're after - i.e. how will it be used? It is possible to pass text from txt files into Flash using dynamic text but this will be embedded in the swf - as opposed to showing as html.

I saw this process at work.

Essentially there is an swf file which has the text passed into it and it outputs it in a certain format.

It doesnt output it as an swf file but standard text.

Very Strange.

I think I know what you mean..
Basically users browsing the page can highlight the text and copy/paste etc?

If so, simply create a dynamic text field (you will need to change from the default 'Static Text' in the properties window).

If you're intending to grab text from an external source you will need a small amount of actionscript.
