Surely Sainsbury's can't advertise it as killing covid 19 as it's asterisked as just Corona virus then that's asterisked again saying it's been tested on SARS-CoV-2 in EN14476

The bottle itself doesn't mention covid 19 albeit I've just seen an advert where is fires it up in big writing kills covid 19*

Surely that's just irresponsible advertising?

If its been tested on SARS CoV2 (the virus that causes COVID-19) then there's nothing wrong with their claim or am I missing something?

The bottle pictured in the link has "Kills coronovirus" mentioned on it and that it has been tested on SARS CoV2 - seems fine to me.

Well COVID-19 is the disease, caused by SARS-COV-2, so whilst any claim it kills COVID-19 is probably not technically accurate, it's not the most misleading thing ever.

It probably wouldn't be an issue if we didn't refer to everything as COVID-19 regardless but most people probably wouldn't know what it meant if it just advertised SARS-COV-2.

its not to difficult to pass EN 14476 - coronaviruses are pretty easy to kill on surfaces, especially with the regulations on what you can put in a cleaner (since it won't be put on skin)
