I'm having problems updating flash player on firefox. I'm currently running 10,1,82,76, while the latest version is 10.1.85.3, and I know all the talk about malicious ads exploiting flaws in flash to install, so obviously I want to keep it as up to date as possible, but I'm not sure how. Updating through the download manager doesn't do anything, it says its installing but I end up on the same version. I've tried a direct download:
http://fpdownload.adobe.com/get/flashplayer/current/install_flash_player.exe

I've even tried uninstalling flash completely then installing with that exe, and I always end up with 10.1.82.76

Any ideas on how to update?

Thanks, tried the exe and the msi installer from that site with the same result. Ditto with creating a new FF Profile. I'm completely stumped by this, uninstalling flash does the right thing, as nothing flash based shows, just tells me I need the plugin, so why on earth would the installers be installing a previous version of flash? Shouldn't they only be capable of installing the latest version?

Edit: Had a brainwave, and as usual, pebkac. Was my attempt at the fullscreen flash hack causing all the problems. Apparently firefox was still using the backup .dll I had made, and as it was a backup it wasn't getting uninstalled. Deleted that, reinstalled and its all working!
