I tried to watch video in youtube, wasn't any sound working maybe i just needed to restart PC as something else was using the sound....

Anyway, i uninstalled flash from add/remove programs, uninstalled FF, even every mozilla folder i could find on PC, reinstalled FF and flash and now all i get is a white box in FF where the flash movie should be, it works in IE but not FF.

It could be some registry vale that needs removed or something... any ideas?

Tried a manual install from the adobe website?

I did that as well, i messed about it the registry deleting every mozilla and macromedia entry i could find as well as well as these folders before i reinstalled FF and flash both from desktop. Really annoying...

rz30, i had the same problem with firefox and started using google beta browser. I then went on youporn watched a movie and muted the sound. Later i went onto youtube and had no sound so was like wtf?
I then realised it was probably because i had muted the sound :P - so go on another website with a similiar flash player and turn volume up

Problem: I had left the slider down off a previous web page i visited and youtubes slider didnt work, i had to go back to the original website and turn volume up using the slider

Isn't sound just a blank white box there isn't actually a movie to watch...

I think this problem is too technical and specific to solve, like maybe 1 registry enter needs altered somewhere..

well im just going from my experience, i hadnt altered the registry and went to a movie with different player and turned the volume slider up. I later went back to youtube and the sound worked.

Reason: Sound was muted on a different website and it didnt make a difference turning the volume slider up on youtube
