Flash preloader - newbie question

I have just created my first website in Flash 8 Pro. I didn't build a preloader into it but now I'm wishing I had! Since all the frames refer to each other it would be a pain to move them along the timeline and go through manually updating all the links. Is there a way to make a separate .swf that will appear while my site loads in the background?

It only needs to be 3 or 4 frames, just to let visitors know they haven't crashed.

I've got a feeling there should be a very simple solution to this but I'm not having much luck when trying to search for a guide. Can anyone point me in the direction of an appropriate tutorial?

Just stick another scene in before it, put the preloader in there and then get it to move to the next scene when loaded.

Yeah, but then he would have to go through each page link and update them to one frame along. Which he said he didnt want to do. I dont think there is a way. If there is someone please post because i have found myself in the position a lot aswell :rolleyes:

SCENE NOT FRAME. Jesus, some people.

If you'd learnt the program properly one of the first reccomendations when using Flash to prevent this sort of issue is to link to labels rather than frame numbers.

Yeah but I didn't! That's why I'm asking questions. It does say "newbie" in the title. Sorry if my ignorance offends you.
