Flash Preloader

I am trying to create a preloader in Flash 8 using a Movie Clip.

It is an outline of a person and it fills up from bottom to top. I cant find any information on how to make a preloader that isnt just a simple progression bar or text as a percentage.

Everytime I paste my movie clip into a tutorial it goes weird and the screen is blank then everything appears at 40%

it's easy to make.. you will have an outline of your man-loader, the mask (the fill area inside the outline) and the colour rectangle which you will move up while the movie is loading using actionscript so it looks like the outline is being filled..
