Flash problem

trying to create the scenes and link them via buttons, the problem is with doing this, I have linked scene 1 and 2 together, but when I test the "movie", without me clicking on the button it goes straight to scene 2, it does stop as in the action script I've added the stop function. But when I click on the "back" button all that happens is it flickers onto scene 1 but comes straight back to scene 2.

Any ideas?
