Flash, what do i need

Hi guys
I've got some older lencarta branded flash heads, a SB900 and a godox trigger.

I can fire the heads and sb900 from the D810 but only if it the on camera flash is used.

This created some issues taking some promo food shots yesterday. Well that and its my first proper try with flash.

I bought the godox trigger thinking ill be able to fire the SB900 without needing on camera flash but I cant get it to work..


Do I need more kit..

Why did you think a Godox trigger could control other than Godox flashes? The Godox triggers only have radio communication while the SB900 only has optical. You'll need a Godox X1R-N receiver for the SB900 to be controlled by the Godox trigger. Or, instead of the trigger, a Godox flash such as the TT685-N that has the optical comms to control the SB900.

Because I'm stupid.. And was in a mad rush.

Any recommendations for a decent trigger
