Flash won't work on one website, but will on another?

This is *really* bugging me.

I have created a flash video and it embeds fine and runs fine on one website.

I then try to place it in to a different website, using the exact same method (insert -> flash movie in dreamweaver) and the blasted thing won't display in a web browser!

I have uploaded all relevant files, but the flash player won't display what so ever.

Any ideas?

If you're running a windows server you have to add the MIME type to IIS for it to interpret the .flv correctly - try this.

Took me hours to figure this out the first time it happened to me.

Hmmm. Both sites are hosted on 1and1.co.uk.

Good info though, I will check it is one a seperate site just out of reference (one I am not having issues with).

What version of dreamweaver are you using?

If it's anything before CS4 then i would use swfobject to embed flash instead.

Adobe has just started to do it this way in CS4, and it's a much better method and valid.

As above - Don't use the default "Insert" facility in DW, it's a pile of poo.

Use SWFObject. Much easier and cleaner. I recommend the AIR Generator to produce the code, it is simple, clever and effective.

I actually used several code generators. It didn't want to know. Worked on other sites just not on that one, so thought sod it as just did it as a media player stream.
