Flashed GPU BIOS and now second monitor not detected

Hey guys,

For awhile I have had a problem with worse performance than expected from my two HD7950's, E.G:

Tomb Raider OCUK benchmark Settings ([email protected], 16GB ETC...)

GPUs @ 1100/1250 +20 powertune

Min: 52.5
Max: 87.4
Avg: 69.1

With the R7950 MSI BIOS from this thread: http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18519021

GPU's @ 1070/1500

Min: 72.3
Max: 108.1
Avg: 92.7

So that worked out well, but now my second monitor (connected via HDMI) isn't detected at all, this has happened since I flashed the primary card with the new BIOS and restarted.

Any way to fix this other than re-flashing back to the original (much worse performance)?

EDIT: One other thing is that GPU-Z reports the second card as having 2048 Shaders (7970 spec)....it's certainly a HD7950, GPU showed this before and after the BIOS flash.
Is GPU-Z just incorrectly reporting the info?

EDIT 2: Read through the entire thread posted earlier and other people were experiencing problems with their HDMI ports and modified BIOSes but no solutions mentioned, If someone could confirm that the mini DP ports still work then I'll just buy a Mini DP to HDMI cable/adapter and use that with the modified BIOS.

Just thought I'd update this thread for anyone that may come across it with the same problem I had.

I couldn't find a BIOS that resolved the bad performance (caused by the boost functionality?) and that also didn't disable the HDMI port so I've kept the modified BIOS and purchased a Mini DP to HDMI cable which works fine.

No idea why GPU-Z reports one of the cards as having 2048 shaders but I'm assuming it's a GPU-Z bug/issue.

I flashed my HIS 7950 with the HIS bios from that thread, and I lost the HDMI too. Maybe it's normal? (whatever that is)
Don't know about the miniDP tho, I put my old card back in for my second monitor.

It may be an error in GPU-Z. Try the latest version. If 2048 cores is true then congrats ;)

Haha, yeah maybe it is normal... A mini DP to HDMI cable works fine (not using the cards HDMI port anymore).

1070/1500 turned out not to be stable so I had to edit the modified BIOS to change the clocks down to 1000/1400, then I re-flashed the cards and now in GPU-Z the second card reads correctly (1792 shaders)... random!:p
