Guys I have a minor problem here. Just flashed my 6950 with a voltage boost, and, well, now it won't boot into windows. Keeps blue screening. Tried doing a dos flash back to the original bios, and when I do (using atiflash off of a USB stick) it comes up with error 0fl01 adapter not found...

Time to RMA? The card is less than a week old =\

Pahahahaha cheers man cannot quite believe I forgot that!!

Now, is there any way to fix the screwed bios? As in from in windows when I have the original bios loaded... I do like the extra stream processors :)

Really? Managed it with one of my 5850's, before I borked that with a bad flash =\

Do you have a citation for that?

Dunno how my 5850 worked then =] booted into windows at 875/1200 :)

Sorted out my card now, managed to get 1.05 ghz stable at 1.3G

I think RBE worked correctly with the 5000 series cards (certainly worked on my 5870) but doesn't work on the 6000 series cards - the drivers fail to initialise so instead of the windows desktop you just get a black screen (tested it on my 6870 and posted on the techpowerup forums to report it at the time).

Yeah I got something like that. Know why it was now.

Remember folks, when you save a bios with RBE, don't forget to add .rom to the end of the file. Else it will just be a random string of code. As I found out after it restarted

switch to the working bios, boot into windows, flick the switch to the broken one and flash a good bios in again - try rebooting - repeat until it works.

i dont know if this will help or not but from other reading i have done today make sure you also have the very latest version of atiflash and you might have to add -unlockrom to your dos command

Please make sure the BIOS selector switch on your card is in the 2 position

atiwinflash -unlockrom 0

atiwinflash -f -p 0 "biosname"

pretty sure the 0 is the card number so if sli and want to do the 2nd change to a 1

stolen from a wizzard script for flashing 6950's
