If you're certain that is the correct bios you need to flash, you can use command -6 to override subsystem mismatches.

I have no idea, I know I have a EVGA SC and that the Bios rom is for that... I have backed up its old rom if it breaks but I donno if I should give it a go or not :(

Hello,

normally there is no BIOS update needed for your card. What is the reason you want to flash the BIOS?
Please be carefull with the BIOS you flash because sometimes there is a new BIOS number if we use a different RAM model, if you then flash this BIOS on your card it might not work anymore.

The flash is to disable it underclocking when reaching temps of 60 to 70c. The walk through is on this website for it and has been tested.

You can also raise with the precision tool the temp target then the card will not clock down. If you have games where the clock is jumping up and down you can use the Kboost feature of precision to fix the clock where you want. The numbers that are stated at your post do also not match, one is the Ref clock P/N while the other is a SC one.

Does this work??? I overclocked my card to 1200mhz no issues but as soon as it gets to 60c it dorps to 1188mhz then 1155mhz for no reason! Its so annoying!

flashing GPUS is not for the faint of heart,

much better if you have a card with a backup bios at least but if not its heart in mouth stuff everytime. I've flashed many a bios over the last couple of years (mainly down to mining on 7970s and chopping and changing bioses every other day. and every time its nerve racking

personally i'd drop Dominik a quick mail and run through the options with him. he's a great help on here and i'm sure he'll be happy to help you get the most out of your card as it is without flashing.

if your still having issues just check, double check and triple check everything from the bios down to the flashing tool is compatible with your gpu and hope for the best.

obviously even a bad flash isn't the end of the world as it sometimes can be reversed but be warned not always. Rather expensive paperweight if it goes wrong

Thank you for the input! Where do i find this man. Of course i would consider any other thing before flashing the card.its just really disapointing when you have a really epic card that wont run bf4 max settings without drops in 1080p! Terrible game though :P

^What limit???

K Boost on Precision is not working 100% of the time for me. Often BSOD on apply and you have to reinstall driver. If it works correctly on your rig great tool to stop clocks jumping around.

Well that sucks if it does it for me. Will have to have a look at it. Cheers.
