I have a Gigabyte X58-UD5 and I want to update the bios.

In the past I have used @BIOS and it worked fine. Will I be ok doing this again?

I don't have my usb pen till next week and have no idea how to make this board boot from usb either, I tried before and failed.

It's generally accepted never to flash from within Windows, also if using a floppy disk then make sure you do a full format on it and ensure that you can also copy the BIOS file back off the floppy to doubly confirm that there are no problems with the floppy before starting the flash.

Can't you flash from within the BIOS? Think this is how I used to do it on my old Gigabyte P965-DS3P mobo.

I don't have a floppy drive, haven't had one for about 5 years.

I lent my usb pen to my mate, I do have a usb hard drive though so I could use that.
