Ive been told that I may need to update my Bios to solve some crashing issues im having. Could someone please give me some tips or a clue how to do this? thanks

Depends on the motherboard, don't use a floppy disk, some windows based utilities can be ok.

Bootable usb disk is prefered method or bios based update

Find out what motherboard you have, CPUZ can help with that (It'll also tell you the bios version): http://www.cpuid.com/cpuz.php

Then go to the manufacturers website and look for your Motherboard you'll usually find drivers, bios & various utilities along with info on how to & warnings about how you can completely bugger it up.

For the love of god don't flash it from within Windows.

What kind of problems are you having with the computer crashing? Why do you think it's the BIOS?
