It seems my new 4870 may be faulty...
I was experiencing STALKER crashing randomly, forcing my system to reboot. At first I wondered if it was just that game but now I am noticing problems in everything 3D as well as videos.
It always seems to occur on the right hand side of the screen. It is like diagonal flashes of a single colour for a fraction of a second. At first it was infrequent but now it happens more often.
Before I waste money and time sending it back though, I was wondering if it was due to overheating. It always seems remarkably quiet, even when under extreme pressure. How do I make the fan spin faster manually?
I also have a feeling that if I send it back that the technician would not spot it and I would be forced to spend even more money for them to return it to me.
