Flashing minitor

The last couple of days my Samsung 226BW has started flashing when it's first turned on. It happens at start up plus when I return to the PC when the monitor has gone into sleep mode. It flashed for maybe 15 seconds then settles down.

Any thoughts, cables are all tight.

Fixed by replacing a couple of internal capacitors - £1.

Just been asked how and where, so for all those with dodgy 226 monitors.

This is the instructions I used.

I got the capacitors from the bay. 25V 820uF 105°C Low Impedanz Long Life Capacitor X 4pcs and 25V 330uF 105°C Long Life Low Impedanz Capacitor X 4pcs but only used two of the 820uf as the 330uf one was OK.

I only replaced the capacitors with bowed tops which indicates a failure.

Had the same problem with a 206bw, sent in for repairs. Called Samsung, they mailed me an UPS label. Stuck the label on a box with the monitor in it, called UPS and they picked it up from my doorstep only moments later. After 5 days I got my monitor back.. awesome service from Samsung.

tldr: If your monitor is still within warranty (3 years for most Samsungs) call Samsung.

Sounds a bit like I'm dissing you for doing it yourself. Sorry about, wasn't the intention.. awesome job finding and solving the problem. If my monitor starts acting up again (warranty is long gone now) I'll know what to do.
