Okay quick overview: i have a MSI 975X Platnium Power Edition motherboard and it was stable at 3Ghz for the last 3months. Now in the last 24hrs i have been having lots of BSOD while playing games that previosuly worked smoothly.

Just now rebooted from an error and the microsoft thing about major error came up, was intrigued so looked to see what MS had to say. The page i got directed to told me it sensed a problem with CPU, Ram and BIOS and i should upgrade BIOS. Now i have read a little bit about bios flashing and heard nothing but trouble. MSI are telling me to flash using there windows system, is that safe to do? or do i need to do it manually? if manually is it hard to do and is it safe?

Really need some advice on this problem please :D

Winflash is a very good program to do it. All you do it set your hardware to default settings (if you had an overclock). Now when you boot up simply use the application to flash the BIOS, if it fails you can always have another go providing you don't turn your machine off. I've never had a problem with flashing my motherboard BIOS, it's not as bad as it sounds, you mainly see the horror stories online and not the success stories.

Best of luck! :)
