Flashpoint Servers

The offical thread will probably give you all the information you need, but most of it is people who like the game Vs people who don't.

This is why you should read up on games before you buy them ;)

the reviews were in the most part singing its praises. if you got it on release day then how were you supposed to read up on something only reviewers knew anything about

Well, I don't mean to sound smart, but to be honest you can't trust a lot of reviews these days either. You're much better off looking at the user reviews over at Metacritic or wandering in here to see if there's a massive thread complaining about the game.

You can almost take it as given that if a magazine gets an exclusive review, with a full splash on the front cover, that they're doing so in return for a favourable (ie 85% +) review.

If you want to know what a game's like these days, the only reliable way is to ask other gamers.

If you buy ANY game on release day, ESPECIALLY IF THERE'S A SUSPICIOUS LACK OF A DEMO, you deserve whatever you get.

user reviews are fine but in the majority they get the game at the same time as everyone else. If you look at 90% of the online reviewers, magazines, etc the games doesnt drop below 80%.

thats not a bad score to go on the strength of what the game is going to be like.

I think that if you bought the game on general release you were unlucky but I dont think its fair to say you got what you deserved. The game should have been better and the majority of the reviews gave this impression. The developers and the reviewers that scored it so well deserve to be punished not the consumer.

i've read the review in pc gamer magazine and they rated it 69, which would put most ppl off, i decided to buy i mainly because i wanted something new to play, but also because of the cod mw2 farce.

i think its good with potential, if they sort out dedi servers it could be a great game.

Lucky i got it free as compensation then.

The singleplayer is brilliant, just didn't know too much about the multiplayer part as i got it free from OcUK and it is just the code, so no box etc.

Better then the spray and pray of COD IMO

Luckily I didn't buy this game, just got it free with my cpu, is it worth installing by the way? If MP is **** what is the single player like?

you have to use wasd to control the radial menu and q to close it again afterwards very frustrating, as you cant move while ordering, and then you forget to close it accidentally try to move and order them to just charge in>.<

I found it easier killing my bots off and playing solo tbh.

VERY true. When i tell them to follow, i forget to close it, press W to move forward, which then makes them move to a position and then gives our position away. :(

imo the single player game is excellent. Visually its stunning and unlike ARMA2 it runs seamlessly.

It does lack something online be it because of the lack of dedi servers I dont know, but its still definately worth buying and playing.

With a 360 controller its a lot easier to play as opposed to using a keyboard in conjunction with the quick command radial.
