Flat Cat5 Ethernet cable - is it as good as round cat5?

need to run some cat5 from downstairs to upstairs, thinking of getting some flat cat5 to do the job as it would lie nicely under the carpet.

ive never used it before, is it as good as round cat5? i mean no degrading of data, slow speeds?

As long as the pairs are still twisted inside the cable, it should be no different I'm assuming.

It's exactly the same am using a 30m one and it's fine.

Using a short run of this from router > Media/DL box

Never noticed any issues, data transfers fast and no corruption at receiving end.

Just a lot easier to hide under things - as you will find out by not tripping over the large lump under the carpet
