I'm.weighing up some options here as I want to install something in a small place which is going to be easier and less hassle in to the kitchen..

I have been down to a Howdens showroom and got some brosures and know yes you need a trade account..

But iv been weighing in the options of flatpack Vs Rigid and have been looking at the pros and cons for the base units.and wall units and tall cabinet..

I'd now like to hear some real world user experience, looking at it flat pack is obviously easier , costs less, although it does loose some value over rigid kitchens,

What's your thoughts on them?

They'll be the same structurally once you put them together if it's the same material?

Id pay more for a better kitchen and save over a day by getting it sent to me rigid though, if that's what you mean. Tends to only be the cheaper outfits that send them flat pack.

Depends how much butchering you foresee. If a lot - flat pack probably.

Well I was looking at Howdens flat pack to replace cabinets and base units.

Ok so have them premade and sent,

I'm trying to work out if the above task is going to be easy for a kitchen novice like me to try and takle the carcas replacement and putting up some cabinets .

Replacing a kitchen is going to be a PITA no matter what. Building the cabinets is the least of your problem (not to dissuade you, just saying plenty challenges will come along the way that'll make building a cabinet a piece of cake).

Why are you swapping your carcasses? What does the kitchen currently look like?

Many people prefer ready built but my friends just had hers delivered from wren and loads of the cabinets are not square and can’t be fixed easily as they are are glued together. There’s gaps up to 5mm on some of them

DIY Kitchen cabinets were pre built (exc doors), apart from one which I asked to be delivered dry fit (not glued) in case I wanted to adjust it as the space was a little awkward.
