Hopefully this is the appropriate board. My Dad asked me for advice on buying a flat screen TV. I don't know much about them and wondered if it would be worthwhile getting one?
As things stand he only watches terrestrial channels (freeview soon too) and films on DVD and VHS. The main advantage of him getting one would be a bigger picture. He is willing to spend £500 - £750 but would it be worth it or better to wait until he gets HD channels / blueray players are more mainstream? For this kind of price range will the picture be better than a standard colour TV?
