Flatmate issues

The only person who doesn't sound like a passive-aggressive asshat in this situation is the other flatmate. I bet he's hoping you both move out.

Probably, but he's got his issues too. He's coming out shining in this thread/situation I'll admit but he's proper weird.

It sounds like she finds your smoking objectionable (regardless of whether or not it is a smoking flat) and you find her singing/slamming doors objectionable (regardless of whether or not it is a singing/slamming doors flat). It seems that you might be able to reach some sort of compromise.

Urinate on a dinner plate, freeze it and then when the housemate is out, take the frozen disc of urine and slide it under their door.

Eat nothing but asparagus and sugarpuffs for 3 days for best effect.

blimey and you're claiming that other people's parents raised them badly...

I don't think you're in the wrong and I'm speaking from being a NON-smoker. You have an addiction which is a problem, she seems to act like a **** on purpose....

There are various other ways to take the drug which do not involve harming others. The drug addiction isn't the issue - smokers chose to harm others and that's the issue. I don't care if people are addicted to a drug. I do care if people choose to harm other people. It's not the same thing at all.

They're both acting badly on purpose, but only one of them might kill the other in a long, slow, painful death. Smoking is pretty damn sociopathic because unless you do it in a sealed environment that nobody else enters you have to not give a damn what harm you do to other people.

By the sound of things, I would rather nail my eyes to a door than live with either of you. I used to smoke **Ex-Smoker Alert** but never indoors. The smell gets into everything and I think your bang out of order for smoking in a house shared by others. They may be complete muppets however coming out with crap excuses (not trying to be harsh) about smoking cycles and I will quit next week etc is utter rubbish. Your addicted and are making up excuses. Stopping is simple, you just stop but you have to want to.

Personally I would move on before I cracked and went ballistic. You do deserve peace and quiet in your home and for others to disrespect that is completely wrong.

Move on and be happier, or stick it out until they move on (with an undefined amount of unhappiness in between)

Stop smoking, you're stinking the place out and making her and her clothes smell.

Can't you smoke outside?

This!!

I used to be a smoker, and when I needed a cig I went outside (even in the rain and snow!). Irrespective of you smoking in your room with the door closed do you really think that the smoke will stay confined to your room? It stinks regardless and the whole house will still smell.

You have a balcony, so use that and close the door behind you.

Remember that you are the health damaging one by smoking, so I think you need to respect people that do not smoke or want to smell like an ashtray.

London travel zones mate, concentric circles expanding out from the centre of London. We're on the cusp of zones 1 and 2 and pay rent that hasn't been increased in 6 years.

In short it's cheap as anything. I've been looking for a new flat for a while as I obviously don't want to live with these people any more and you can't find anywhere less than 700 that's anywhere near as big as this within about 3 miles of the centre.

And that's for a hole or to live with a couple or to stay somewhere you have to be out of on the weekends.

On that basis I guess she wants to drive you out and move either a friend or bf in, i'd stop the passive aggressive stuff and just get aggressive, FFS the lamp would have lasted till I noticed it was in her room if I were you, grass her up to the ll for something.

You need to do a cleaning rota sheet and see how many times the lazy cow signs it

Ignore all the smokists, as if it was as bad as urinating on the floor, FFS, it's like they think not smoking will make them immune to the radiation or smoking was the only cause of cancer.

It makes your clothes and furniture absolutely reek of it, that's probably what they are finding offensive.
That said, I do agree she would have known immediately there was a smoker living there and she should have found somewhere else if she was that bothered.

Refine this by using someone/something else's urine and scoot the disk well into the room, this should do her mad head in.

Tbh if it was me I'd buy an extractor and deioniser for my room this should help the smell issue but noooo waayy would I put up with slamming, laziness or late night singing, it would be war!!

I'm sorry but smoke on the balcony. It doesn't matter you've been there the longest...

Once you're doing that then she'll either calm down or find something else to moan about, if it's the latter suggest she moves out.
