What an amazing game, why havent i played this before? Looks and plays great, must be an efficient engine unlike a lot of games and sounds and music is good too.

I had a LAN game against my mate but can you turn CPUs on somehow? Would be more fun with more than 2 of us! and when I try to load internet play it just crashes to desktop with an unknown error when I try and find games

When you search for games, don't just leave the fields with "any" in

Change it to like

"Derby"
"Race"

That shouldn't crash then, but if it still does, DirectX update is what you need :)

thanks that sorted it. 8 player gas station derby is great fun :D

Picked this up at the weekend, I've completed the Derby-class races and am about two-thirds of the way through the Race-class ones.

It's quite refreshing to find a game which not only looks great, but also runs at 50-90fps with everything maxed including AA+AF at 1600x1200. It's just really nice to play a genuinely smooth racer, in fact in places it almost feels too smooth, with the particle physics feeling a bit 'light' if you know what I mean.

I think this is a good improvement on FlatOut, as it is graphically superior, the fun-factor is higher and ramming opponents is a lot more effective. Not only do you get rewarded (nitros/credits), but also you can put them into spins by hitting the rear side with a heavy vehicle. At the momement I think I prefer the 4x4s; top speed isn't anything special but they handle well, have 4WD and enough strength/weight to mix it up with the other cars.

yeah great game just a shame there is no dedicated server support.
From what i've been reading there isn't going to be any modded courses added either as they arn't going to release any tools for it.
Hope its just "web talk" because it is great fun, but needs new course to keep the "come back & play me".

but you cant go wrong with a circle and raised wall to drive around the outside avoiding 7 other cars ramming every which way :)

Yeah but it'd be nice to have some support from bugbear though wouldn't it?
Just the 1 patch to stop the AMD user from crashing is not enough imo.
I want more tracks or the tools to make some.
There was quite a few mods out for FO, dunno why they're not supporting it this time round as its a much more polished game  :(
