Flatout Ultimate Carnage - crashes after a few seconds?

Is this a known problem at all?

I've just bought this and the only problem I had at install was "Problem adding Flatout to Windows Firewall" (since I've disabled it).

After a few seconds (on the title screen / options menu), it just crashes with the 'This Program has stopped working' message.

Vista 64 SP1, system in sig.

:(

Any ideas?

EDIT - OK, I tried uninstalling and reinstalling with Firewall turned on, but that didn't change anything. Interestingly, I have a CD key but it isn't asking me for it?

I bought this the other day on steam and was having similar problems.

One thing i tried which helped was to download the Games For Windows Live redistributable.

Try that and see if it works. You'll have to create an xbox live account, if you haven't already done so, for when you need to login to windows live once the game starts.

EDIT: Scrap that, what you need is the package that includes the client and the redist. Get it here: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...88-1E50-41C3-A689-181EDC57C0E0&displaylang=en That should work hopefully!

Awesome, that second link sorted it, thanks!

Oh, and how do I reset the game? I'm stuck with a car I bought when the game was crashing...
Glad it sorted it for you! It's a very fun game.

Not too sure how to reset your profile though. I can't seem to find any profile folders on my install. I'm not sure how it would be done as i thought the profile was tied to your xbox live account. You could try reinstalling the game?

Oh hey, if you want to see more banners like mine, where you can totally show off your system, including pics, check out specbox.net

Glad it sorted it for you guys. Unfortunately for me though, steam will no longer launch the game. It comes up with the error 'This game is currently unavailable. Please try again at another time' :(

For anyone else with similar problems, there's some solutions on here: https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=4595-WEXN-6831

They didn't work for me though :( Gonna try reinstalling the game completely.
