Retailing at £499 inc VAT the LG Flatron 34UM67 is the same price as the non-FreeSync 34UM65-P, so it’s great to see that Freesync hasn’t inflated the price of this monitor. As such, for any gamer who owns an AMD Radeon R9-series graphics card it’s well worth checking out as a tearing and stutter free monitor makes a huge difference to your gaming experience.

Zero Adaptive Sync premium confirmed, nice one AMD/LG.

Nothing like 'well done AMD/LG, Freesync is freemium lads'.:p

It's in the same section as the Gsync Owners thread, if it gets moved, someone might just start a Freesync owners thread.:p

There seem to be some massively inflated prices knocking around for both of these models (particularly the original non Freesync version) so I'm not buying the "Freesync version is the same price" line.

Trying to remember precisely how much crap I got for saying it would have no premium, also that Nvidia didn't have patents on it.

As usual, rather than admitting they were wrong, lots of posts to talk about what section it's in or how the screen is so low res it couldn't have a premium on it.

The cheapest G-sync 144hz 27" 1080p panel is £389, the cheapest non g-sync screen is £319 and Asus, the G-sync being Acer, so it's an actual £70 difference but factoring in Asus it's probably more. 27" 16:9 1080p has the same pixel density as 34" 1080p in 21:9.

So can't charge more, yet Nvidia/G-sync is a full £70 more(at least) for such a pixel density/resolution combination, an over 20% increase in price for it.

EDIT:- Should probably add the Freesync Acer is only £40 more than the Acer g-sync... only difference being the Freesync is 1440p not crappy 1080p which is poor for that size screen. Similar spec G-sync panel has an rrp of what £700, and are on sale for £600 more places... vs £430 for the same spec screen with Freesync.

** No competitor prices please **

It seems to me prices of the original have been kept artificially high and even the new one is overpriced.

Of course it's not inflated. It's a 34" 1080 pixel. Nobody would buy it, it's expensive already.

** No thanks ** I'll wait to see photos of your one set up in situ shall I? No of course not.

What screen will you be going for? I have had my ROG Swift for months and months now and love it. I look forward to seeing your take on what Freesync is like for you personally.

Similar spec? lol

One is the worlds first 144Hz IPS while the other is yet another woefully average TN. Lets not forget that by being the worlds first 144Hz IPS it going to be able to command quite the premium as well.

Lets see what TFT Central have to say about it.
Move over Asus ROG Swift PG278Q, in our opinion we've got a new king of gaming monitors!
I wonder why they decided to make the premium top of the range screen G-Sync while the Freesync display only gets another tired old TN panel.

I think he is on about the ROG swift mate.
