Here's a picture of an aluminium hard drive tray from a Shuttle SN27P2.

Got very little spare room to work with for lining the tray with a vibration damping material. Could also cushion the chassis rails that the tray rests on as a back-up.

Any recommended sheet material from DIY or stationary places that would absorb vibration?

Would prefer a sheet material so could fully line the disk tray, and cut holes to allow fixing screws.

Go to a shoe shop and get some gel insoles for shoes and cut them into strips that you require. I've done that to my hard drive cage with 3 HDDs and there are no vibrations at all, i've also placed the water pump on the gel with same perfect results.
