fli trap twin 12" subs

ive got some cheap jvc or kenwood 6x9s all round powered off my HU its more then loud enough, i've got 1x 12" sub atm, wanting more bass

They are basically budget Vibe gear. You'd be best with two £40 Pioneer 12" subs and buying the box amp and cabling separate.

Why on earth do you need more bass than one 12" in a car?
If it's a poo 12" in the wrong enclosure, then you will get poor bass. On the other hand a nice 12" in a good enclosure can give way too much bass for a tiny car cabin...

I run 2 8" subs in a horn enclosure myself, any more and I'd probably make myself deaf.

I think people often think more subs = better bass but often the reverse is true.

EDIT: Those JBL's, I've tried them myself and work pretty well in a sealed box (or a horn if you've got the room). I'd go for those over the Fli's anyday.

12" sub should be adequate, personally too much bass sounds awful. Someone I know uses 2x 12" sub and its just far more bass than required and takes over the music. Some people just have no idea what sounds good.

i have a cheap halfrauds (ripspeed) sub in my boot, only cost me £30 haha, sounds ok for what i use it for., do wonder what difference a bigger one would make with mainly dance / trance though.

How on earth do they measure the supposed RMS values of these speakers?!

FLI Trap 12 twin:

RMS Power
600 watts

Peak Power
2000 watts

That's blatantly ridiculous, you're looking at a pretty hefty PA cab, with a properly 18inch driver to give a true 600W continuous power figure.
