Basically, there was a thread some time ago related to gangs or something. I said guns are a problem in London and I'd rather not be an enemy of someone who can get hold of one in 3 minutes. Then a few villiage people thought guns don't exist, etc...

I think people find the "3 minute" part funny, when in fact it is quite serious.

For nearly 4 months I worked with some real low life scum in a Juvenile Detention Centre who were mainly from London gangs.
If I believe them then I believe you because all of them claimed to be able to get their hands on a gun within minutes.

While I suspect that a small proportion of people have access to a gun or guns I doubt that there is an abundance of sub-machine guns floating about British schools, even inner city London ones.

He said "there are kids at my school that can get a Mac10 in under 3 minutes if they wanted, so I couldn't stand up for myself and ran drugs for them instead", or words to that effect.

I doubt it somehow.
