flickering and ghosting when gaming

I have just purchased a 27" monitor (benQ GL2750) and I am experiencing what I can only describe as a faint flickering in the background when gaming BF3 and PES2013.Also there is a slight ghosting on the ball in PES. Now, the question is whether this is to be expected on a 27" @1080 or is it because its a cheap monitor and the quality is not too great. The flickering is really annoying and is starting to feel a bit like motion sickness. I am thinking of packing it back up and swapping it for something else.
What do you think (also what is the chance of getting it swapped)

The flickering could be if your monitor is using pwm to control the backlight or it could be the dynamic contrast changing the backlight.

My monitor used pwm and the flickering is most evident on grey and dark colours.

Thanks. Tried to reduce it as per the article but its still there. Think i will try and return it and get something else
