Flickering Cold Cathode

I have a blue cold cathode in my pc and recently I have noticed it starting to flicker, do you guys know if this is a common problem with old cold cathodes or is it a sign of something more serious like my psu being on its last legs?

it hasnt got voice activation i take it?

Can you try it on another inverter, or could be bulb failing.

No there is no voice activation on it, also it is the only cathode in there so there isn't another invierter i can try, only reason i am asking is because i have been getting a few problems with freezes during games and the occasional BSOD recently, is there any chance these could be linked?

system spec is in my sig, i have tried it without the overclocks and still get the same problems

That is the main reason for my suspicions, i do love my hiper, it's the sexiest psu in the world, but.... if it kills anything else i would be gutted

Can u check the rails to see if thier lower than normal.
