Hi all.

This suddenly just happened to me. This new(ish) machine from OCUK I have bought has 2 970's for SLI. Just before I was in a game that I had been playing fine for about an hour and a half, when I started getting minor flashes or flickering. It was in half the screen, like a solid colour for a millisecond. Didn't put much thought to it at first, but then it started to become full screen and the flashes more frequent. It looked a bit like screen tearing but with solid colours.

I made sure I hadn't inadvertently changed some vsync settings which I knew I didn't. Checked all cables were tight. I have afterburner for on-screen monitoring of temps, they rarely go above 60. So I was stumped, I restarted my machine again and fired up a few games and to my horror, the flickering had become much much worse, absolutely constant and the FPS in those games hit rock bottom. It crashed a few as well.

Then tried a few other things like adaptive vsync and other sync settings, changing pre-rendered frames, and other things in the control panel to no avail. Finally I turned off SLI, lo and behold, it worked. The flickering had stopped. It had something to do with the bottom card.

What's telling is how I was playing a game that was ok for a while, more than an hour before it started, in that game. And it got worse and worse. I only got it in games though. Surfing and anything else seemed to be ok.

So, before I contact OCUK, maybe there is there something I can do? Things I've tried:

Drivers up to date
Making sure all cables are tight
Different vsync settings
Actually many settings in control panel, all to no avail.

Ah well, nevermind then.

Anyway, today it seems to be fine for now. How long it stays that way remains to be seen.

Edit: scratch that, five minutes in and it popped up again. Disabled SLI again and it went away.
