Hi guys, bought a DGM 24" last year (AU-M240UW01-VO), recently started occasionally seeing flickering lines of green dots. Also there are sometimes red ones on the desktop (particularly translucent window/start bars). Don't think its the gfx card (tried two - powercolor 512MB and sapphire 1GB 4870's), don't think it's a driver issue either (catalyst 9.2 and 9.3), and my second monitor (Dell E171FP) is fine.

Any ideas? Below is a pic of the screen while watching a .avi in WMP. The dots do not show on a screenshot.

Are you in the Matrix?

The funny thing is, I was watching the matrix when taking the shot! (at the top you can just bake out the bottom of "THE"!

It was ordered on the 18th June '08. I'll try it in another pc, and a DVI>VGA connection, within the next week or so just to make sure, then I guess its RMA time :( I don't think I could get used to a TN panel after this though, it's fantastic!

I bought one around the same time and also have a problem with green pixels. These usually show up on grey and pale blue shaded areas on screen. They come and go and it gets better when the monitor warms up. I haven't RMA'd mine yet as it appears that replacement screens from DGM are TN panels. Pity, as these monitors are really nice when they're working....

Darn right they are, any RMA will be requesting a VA panel, it's the reason I bought the thing in the first place!

As I was typing the above, the panel just went blank!!!!! The blue LED stayed lit, so there was a signal, but no picture! Wouldn't turn off either, had to pull the kettle lead out! Could a power problem be causing this and the dots too?

i repair TVs for a company in Oxfordshire and its very uncommon but when something like this happens its usually down to the LVDS cable from the mainboard inside the TV to the Panel thats causing a resistance once the TV has warmed up and causing like a grain/lines on certain colours of moving pictures.

could be something similar?

It will do it when it's just turned on (putting a .avi on it), don't think its a heat issue (although you never know, heat may have caused it in the first place). Is this LVDS easy to replace?

Cheers for all the replies!

its just a cable with about 20 little ones inside that have to connect to where its meant to go or in the TV you normally fry a) the mainboard or; b) the panel buffer. lol

wouldn't have a clue where to get one from unless the manufacturer was to send you one, is it out of warranty?

if it happens straight away from putting a movie on its HIGHLY unlikely to be the above i mentioned as it takes a few mins for the panel to warm up before becoming noticeable.

It's younger than a year, I'm guessing it's in warranty, can't find the original product description to check. Do you think I'd be best going through OcUK or straight to DigiMate?
