Flickering horizontal lines on desktop only (video included)

Hi all,

Hoping some one can help with this.

When I boot my PC I get strange flickering horizontal lines on the desktop. They go away after about 20 seconds. The issue CANNOT be replicated after that. I tried Furmark/Valley etc.

It only happens on the desktop at boot?

I took a video to show what happens.

Firstly troubleshoot with a different monitor and cable.

Does this occur every boot even after a warm restart or just once per day from power off?

The system is only powered on once and left on for the day so never checked the second point. Just restarted there and no lines whatsoever.

I had this exact problem a while back which turned out to be a faulty Nvidia 670 GPU unfortunately.

Hmm... I'm beginning to think its the monitor as I'm gaming for hours today and no issues what so ever, also ran Furmark for awhile and no issue. Overclocked GPU Core/RAM and all good.

Ill try a cold boot tomorrow connected to a different monitor to rule it out.

Does sound like a connection issue, with either the monitor end or the GPU.

I tried a spare monitor and no lines from startup. So that rules GPU out hopefully. Next step is buy another DP cable and see. If that doesnt solve it then its the monitor. Its still under warranty but getting back to OCUK from Ireland will be near on impossible I say.
