flickr Photostream

Is there anywhere of stopping flickr posting every photo I upload onto the flickr photostream?

I know that's kinda the point, but I want to do a bulk upload, put them into a set, but leave the ones that I like the best sitting on the photostream, rather than loads and loads of the same type.

Unfortunately no.

Flickr essentially is just one big Photostream per user. You just have the ability to put what is in your Photostream into separate sets. Anything in a set though is just pointing at them in your Photostream, they aren't really in an album so to speak.
