Afternoon :)

I purchased Flickr Pro a few months ago and over all i'm happy with it, however...
How do you get your pictures to show in search engines? i.e Google images?

Is it just a case of waiting? or is there something specific you need to do? other than making your account public (which mine is)

Any advice appreciated :)

Peace

I dunno really. I've never bothered looking on google for anything I put on any site. I did however search for the name I gave one of my photos and found it on 3 sites I use, so they are out there.

I imagine that as with everything web based, the more popular it is, the higher up the search it'll be. Having more tags on the photo will no doubt raise it's rating on search engines. The more groups you join and submit a photo to, will also help too.

A good example of this, and I won't name the photographer, is a lad who has well over a quarter of a million page views on Deviant Art, and has a very popular Facebook page, and his stuff appears in search engines a bit, and yet he posts about 2 photos a year that are any good, and about 200 absolutely appalling ones, yet gets loads of hits due to the amount of exposure he gives them by spending an age adding each photo to about 30-40 groups and linking his facebook profile.

I would post a link, but it would seem like I'm being bitchy, but christ some of the low quality stuff that's out there, purely because people spend time promoting it and has a massive following, is utterly dumb founding.
