So it sounds like Flickr are stirring up their Flickr Pro subscriptions again...

Received the following email today:
We've got some exciting news to share with you — one of our loyal Flickr Pro members.

We're re-launching Flickr Pro and making it available to all Flickr members.

The new Flickr Pro includes:

Stats and analytics on your photos and more detailed referral traffic
Ad-free browsing and sharing

Yearly subscriptions also receive:

FREE standard shipping on Flickr photo merchandise within the US, and 50% savings on international standard shipping ($25 minimum)
20% off Adobe Creative Cloud Photography plan for the first year — see additional details below

For new subscribers, Flickr Pro is $49.99 per year or $5.99 per month.
And here is where it gets good as a Loyal Flickr Pro Member:

You get these additional Flickr Pro features and continue to receive unlimited space, with no change in price for the next 2 years.

Even if you accidentally cancel your Flickr Pro subscription, you can repurchase at your current price for the next 2 years. Learn more.

So sounds like despite continuing to subscribe to my Flickr Pro account at $24.95/year after 2013 when Flickr Free was improved, subscriptions will be going up after the next 2 years. I thought the whole incentive of keeping Flickr Pro going was that the price would not rise but it appears this is being back tracked.

What do other people make of this?

I think it's a decent offer for existing Pro subscribers tbh - half price and unlimited storage (although who really uses more than 1TB?) and you can't expect them to keep it like that forever.

We'll see what happens in a couple of years - suspect the pricing structure may change anyway by then, especially as competitors emerge etc.
