Flight Case Comp

Hi,
i do a fair bit of work in the stage production industry, festivals and bands ect, and almost everything we use is in a flight case. I would like to put my computer into a flight case where it can easily be used within this case. this will make the power of my computer easily movable with me to the festivals with all the other equipment.

im looking at 2 channels of thought:
First, does anyone know of flight cases which have been designed for this purpose? custom cases are expensive (some over £1000).

Second, building a new computer from scratch within the case. does anyone know of this or anything similar being done before or have any knowledge of what is possible with flight cases that may relate to this option being possible or not.

i would like to include a screen, keyboard + mouse, and a small section for cables which i regularly use. my current rig is within a antec 900 case and a 20" screen. a small set of speakers could be nice, but i work with sound systems all day so speakers lying around arnt hard to come by, you should hear explosions on a PROPER sound system. Its actually like being hit in the chest :)

With all the padding in a flight case you are going to need some serious cooling.

I'll leave the design up to other people though :P

Isn't the obvous way of doing this to get a 19" rack flightcase and a cheap rackmount case? I've had a quick look and ATX rackmount cases seem to be fairly easy to pick up, racking the monitor might be tricky though. There are pop out LCDs available for racks but they're pretty small.

I've done that ^^^. Worked fine, survived a trip to australia, and being kicked around between venues. The whole rack is suspended in foam.

im trying to stay away form laptops, they cant handle as much rough n tumble as the comp in a flight case would, and the pc would have a lot more power.

looking into it, the 3U 19" rackmout case with a 1U screen drawand 2x 1U draws for keyboard n wires ect would seem to be perfect. will let u all know if/when i do it n how it goes :)

cheers
