i saw that and i saw the trial as it happened - as a chemist i seriously doubt that those explosives would have worked at all, and i distinctly remember that they did not prove that the explosives would have worked in the trial (they only showed an explosion of 'equivalent power' and what it would do).
it doesn't matter for the trial as the intent was there, but it does matter for aeroplane restrictions which i think are stupid and based on unscientific data.
