I thought I would show these pics of a Pacific-Island hop in FS9. FSX won't run at a decent framerate on my system *sobs* But FS9s still got lots of life left if you ask me..

nice pics, i find flight sims to complicated 
Flights sims are easy, just pick a plane and a location, hit full throttle and off you go 
Really is that easy just to get flying and enjoying the scenery. I've been playing Flight Sim X recently and it supports the 360 wired pad which works surprisingly well with it. Just plug it in, install the drivers and off you go, Flight Sim detects it and sets it up automatically. I've also got the Microsoft FF joystick which is awesome when I can be bothered to set it up
FSX needs a beefy CPU/video card though.
You don't need to be a nerd with 17 screens and a captains outfit and hat to enjoy the Flight Sim games. It's great fun just to fly round and explore for anyone. Landings are excellent fun too, I actually landed a 747 manually the other day

Yea the cool thing about sims is that you can make it as easy or difficult as you want it. And Im sure FS9 can be had for a steal now that FSX has come out!
But the best part about FS9 is the freeware. Thousands and thousands of free planes & scenery...some of them are so good you are shocked its free I kid you not!

I really must get those addons you have, as they look amazing.
The main thing that really bugs me is the low res airports, that come with stock FS9
