Flight sim for a noob?

I just got this joystick as a gift for using with BF3 but i'd like to have a crack at a proper flight sim. I was wondering if anyone could spec me a game keeping in mind the face that i dont know squat about flying so it'd have to be very noob friendly.

Thanks guys. I'm primarily looking for a combat sim but i'll still give MS Flight sim a go.
