Flight sim nerds i need you!

Hey, basically i started playing flight sim again on my system (you can see my specs in my sig) im running at 3840X1024 with everything set to ultra high but yet when i fly around im only getting 10-25fps (this is around new york havent tried anywhere else yet) Droping the resolution has nearly no effect. MSI afterburner is showing each of my graphics cards only using about 40-50% usage and my in task manager my cpu is around 60-80% on all cores. What can i do? I think im going to start with a fresh install tomorrow, have any of you had this problem?

Do a search for Bojote FSX....

Tweak following this guide http://205.252.250.26/cgi-bin/yabb2/YaBB.pl?num=1208959973

Have a search for the cloud swarm tweak (not sure where i found it, but helped no end)

Look for the external FPS limiter.

Turn X-fire off for FSX, offers no benefit apparently ( can't say I noticed any difference with it on/off... but try just in case)

Also go into your bios and disable Hyper Threading, this makes the sim suffer micro stutters.

try and concentrate on getting smooth flight, rather than higher frames.

Thanks man, ill fiddle some more in the morning. Ill try some of bojotes configs first and see how it copes if not then ill start on the other stuff

There isn't any particular rig I know of that can run everything maxxed at that res with addons, or even vanilla. I'd start by dropping your AI traffic to about 60%, cars and boats even further. They're quite a perf hit. The automated guide bojote made is a great starting point, but to get the results Soya has takes a fair amount of time and research (and a good few addons), so take it slow to start with.

My air traffic is on 100% just because i like flying around and crashing into other planes or following them haha is there any way i can still have lots of air traffic but with less performance hit maybe an addon?

Yeah, try mytrafficX or if you want a free one, world of AI.

I downloaded and installed sp2, enabled dx10now it runs at like 25-30fps around new york and enabling bloom now has no effect on fps (Y). So this my traffic x doesnt have much performance hit?
